   Chapter I: The Escapee

Cornelius, the new owner of G-corp...betrayed X and since the company isn't legally his, Cornelius stole it and sent X to an insane asylum in a satalite orbiting the moon.

Ten years pass...

   ---Orbital Asylum---

"You don't fly much, do you?" said the guard at the airlock gate. "N-no not u-usually this far." said the new nurse nervously. She was medium height with long brown hair. "How do you guards h-handle getting shifted in and out every m-month?"she asked. The guard thought about it for a second and thought of an excuse, "...well, they train us to do this. It takes a lot of endurance". She nodded and made her way to the reception counter, "Oh, you must be the new nurse!" replied the receptionist. She had short blonde hair. "Hold on while I check your chart..." as the nurse ran through some listings."Oh.....oh my," said the nurse slightly worried. "what? What is it?" asked the new nurse. "It's..." said the receptionist, "..it's just that your assigned to be X's nurse..". "Who's X?" replied the new nurse. The receptionist explained, "X is a strange case we got about ten years ago, no one knows his name, never says anything, always reading that strange book of his over and over"."...What book is it?" asked the nurse. "I dunno, some old book he owns, looks older than dirt. All black and ragged with a scrached plus on the front, some say it's in a language so old it's practically encrypted" the receptionist replied. She told the nurse where his room was and that she starts tomorrow.

The nurse went to her quarters for the night, all of the staff had rooms that were on a different floor than the patients, the eerie part was that the rooms all had the same layout, except for personal pictures or posters. The nurse wondered about her patient. "There are a lot of rumors about the strange person named "X", but anyone who said their name was X always turned out to be a fake or prank for money. Maybe the guy's gone mad and thinks he really IS X, who ever he is. She wondered for a few hours before going to bed.

The next day the nurse went to the door of X's room. She stood there for a second, preparing the inevitable akward forced compliments and fake facial expressions, after all, she was trained for this. She opened the door and slowly walked inside. "Good morning...." said the nurse. She heard no response, just the quiet hum of the humidifyer in the corner. X was reading while sitting on his bed. She had expected an old man who was fading away, but X, looked only 25 to 30 years old at the most! He held the gnarled book in his hands, with seemingly unbroken concentration. She paused for a moment, studying his features. He was wearing a white shirt with blue-jeans and socks. He had medium-short hair, black as a raven and went to points at the ends. Even while sitting down she could tell that he was tall, then she noticed the markings on his hands and feet. "Why do you have these ring tattoos?" she asked. Still no response. "I've heard that you don't say anything, but dead silence?". She sat down next to him on the bed, "If you don't talk, we can't help you". He closed the book sharply, and the nurse jumped a little. He slowly turned his head up facing her, eyes closed. He opened his left eye, deep blue like the color of royal headresses and looked into hers in away that made her feel frozen. He began to frighten her. She felt as if someone had lit her on fire. She stood up, and as if wounded, she leaned against the wall opposite of him. "Y-y-you're, you're him!" she shrieked, frightened at his unnaturally cold face. He slowly stood up and spoke for the first time in ten years. Looking into her soul with a cold emotionless stare he said,"..Yes, I am....". As if paralyzed by a spider, he walked twoards her and she was frozen in place. "I...suppose you want to know what this book is...don't you?"he said in an unwavering tone, "this book is a bible, a very old bible, the oldest one that was able to survive this long, I have repaired it countless times and re-printed the pages exactly." just then he pushes the book into her hands. As if by choice he looks at her with a normal stare once more as she gasps and slumps onto the floor. "I have been thinking.." he said quietly, " ..and I have decided to leave..". The nurse said with a shaking voice, "W-who a-are you?". He quietly said,"They call me, X".

The door of his room opens, as a guard is walking by. X steps out of the doorway as the guard turns around. All the guard says is "HEY--AACK" as X punches he man in the throat and takes his stun gun. he dashes down the hallway before knocking out another guard and taking the elevator. Soon after, the nurse stumbles out of X's room, feeling half asleep and starts to run after him. Meanwhile X plows through another group of guards one floor down from her. He takes one of the guards ID cards and makes his way to the storage halls, where all the belongings of patients are kept until release or death. He takes the ID card and uses a computer to find where his section is. By the time he gets there and retrieves his property, guards are waiting for him by the dozens. He noticed the fire sprinklers on the celing by the exit. He rips the drawer out of one of the filing cabinets and smashes it into the fire sprinkler, setting it off. Guards pour into the other end of the room and notice the puddle near the exit and the activated sprinkler, but unfortunately don't see the stun gun, turned on, laying in the puddle behind one of the cabinets. X reached an intersection in the hallways in the shape of the letter "T". The top of the "T" in the hallway is lined with windows showing space and Deus out in the distance. X quickly takes his fist and punches the glass once with monsterous force, causing it to crack. As soon as the crack in the glass is made, an emergency signal starts to blare, and emergency bulkheads slide down and lock into place, sealing off the intersection an the window. The nurse, who is barely able to catch up, pounds her fists on the glass window of the bulkhead from the other side and shouts "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!!", but she can't hear X, she reads his lips as he says "..I'm leaving..". The thing he took back from storage was a 3x3 inch cube on a metal necklace that he had been using the laboratories at G-corp to work on. It was a prototype that had never been seen by anyone but him. He slipped the necklace on and held the cube in his hand. Then he crushed it and pushed it onto his chest. The cube turned to a black oily skin that spread out covering his body, then armor and life-support systems began to materialize outward onto the suit's surface. Then a helmet and visor warped up out of the neck area of the armor and sealed off his head. X gave the nurse a half-wave before the window shattered and he was sucked out into space.

Meanwhile, in secure upper labs in the massive G-corp. building, Cornelius, accompanied by lab technicians, made his way into a heavily restricted area. "How is our experiment progressing?" he asked a lab tech. "Vitals and neuroanatomy increasing in endurance and growth, sir." said one of the engineers. Cornelius grinned as he read through one of the latest report logs: SUBJECT 01 - SUBJECT DNA TRANSFIGURATION -SUCCESSFUL. "Just a matter of time.." said Cornelius to himself "..just a matter of time...".

     ---Home---
Two days later, in low orbit above Deus, X woke up in his suit. He decided to make a flashy entrance and test his suit at the same time, by diving down into the city at orbital speed. G-corp had released there newest versions of the Police drones in Grand Station City, they were the best known protection. Just under an hour later, drones pick him up on their long range sensors, cruising at 248mph and leveling out with the skyline. As they attempted to intercept him he ripped through their circuits and visors like a bullet through paper. Suddenly all of them in the area converge and form a cloud of sentry drones behind him. He dives through alleys and under overpasses, even weaving through the hovering traffic, but the cloud continues the pursuit, avoiding the obstacles as well as he is. The people piloting them were located in comunication buildings scattered all over the city.

"What the hell is it, it looks like a drone!" said one of the pilots sitting at a computer.

"I have no idea, it can't be human, it's moving to easily." said another pilot.

He lead them to a long stretch of highway, lined by buildings and splits left and right at the end, with a wall of buildings approaching from the front. He made a split decision, and diverted the suit's power to the grav-boosters in his gloves and soles. In a split second, spiraling into position, X faced his soles and palms in the direction of the wall of buildings. In an instant,  the shockwave rippled the windows and immediate bricks, rebar, and balconies into dust and rubble. X spiraled to the left while turning on a dime and going 248mph nearly spinning out of control as the cloud of drones hit the wall and scattered, all spinning out into buildings and streetlights. He saw the G-corp building. He looked down, seeing a fair sized car waiting on the street below. He swooped down, cruising under the transports zipping by, fists ripping through the car all the way to the axle, and picked it up buy the back end. Spinning twice with all his and the suit's strength, he threw the car. The car tore through the building, all the way out the other side.  That attracted a lot of attention, and X decided to wait a while before he returns.

One week later, under an assumed name and staying in a hotel across town, X examined the field report recorded by the cube. He sat, reading the readout on the cube's statistics. He needed one of the last components for the suit, and it was in G-corp labs. At midnight, X took the suit and walked out on to the balcony of his hotel suite. By now the suit had contracted back into the cube shape. It had a lot of power left, but after being cooped up in a space station for years, X wanted some exercise. He saw a transport, that looked like an old fashioned bus, lined with g-boosters. The idea of G-diffusion and repulsion is to remove then reverse the gravitational effects around or under a G-booster creating a hovering effect. After thinking for a hot second, he lunged over the balcony's railing and fell down, grabbing the back edge of the transport with a quick THUD. X climbed onto the top and sat while the transport took him twoard his destination. He looked up at the sky, even though the towering city made it impossible to see the stars, the night sky's inky blackness still seeped down into the golden illuminated city. After a while he dove across to another transport and took a shortcut closer to The G-corp building that was slowly approaching from the front. As the wall of the side of the G-corp building flew by, he jumped. He hit the wall of the building with devistating force, breaking through a window. He crept through the hallways just outside the security system's range and raided several labs, while ruining some very valuable equipment. In one of the files on the mainframe was the last program he needed to perform alterations and enhancements on the suit without it self-destructing. After downloading the material he needed, X noticed a new project under high classification and was the current top priority. The project's lab was listed on a dummy floor that the elevator was programed to skip. After X got to the floor below he took the stairs to the security door that sealed off that section. "I guess I'll have to open it with brute force.." he said to himself. He took a few steps back and pulled his fist back and, just for a second, the ring emblazened on his fist grew white-hot. When he punched, the solid steel door buckled and ripped like cardboard then flew into the room with a thundering crash. He strode into the room, with his hand steaming, and went to the personel mainframe infront of a large metal sphere held with supports. "They must have built this while I was gone..." X thought to himself. He began scrolling through the information, trying to guess at what he'd let happen, and opened a program run entitled "project presintation". As soon as he did so, the massive sphere's lights flikered and gasses were released as it split and spread apart, revealing a large glass tube. X saw what was inside and almost lost his balance. Inside the glass tube was a woman, wearing a white shorts and a white t-shirt while hoses, needles and life support equippment covered her body. She had Raven-black hair,  down to the middle of her back but the thing that shocked X, was that the same symbols were on her hands and feet too.

He sat, for a few minutes, dumbfounded, "..they tried to give someone else my powers...I hadn't thought of that..." X wondered what he could even do at this point. He though to himself, a weapon or an experiment, mabye even a political reason. She looked like she was 30 so this person must have been experimented on. His thoughts trailed off as he stood up and walked to the console again, carefully, he put his hand up to the glass. Suddenly a pulse ran through him, not electricity, something strange and celestial. He began to feel memories, but from someone else's mind. X looked at the girl in the chamber and realized it was her, everything that they did to her. He saw them through his mind, poking and prodding here and there, running countless tests and nural studies, augmentations and adaptations that cross countless ethical boundaries and made science look like torture. They had put her in the large tube and in a coma for a reason, fear? He couldn't tell. After the feeling stopped he pulled his hand back and wondered how he let this happen. As he saw his own hand move back something caught his eye. The girl woke up as he moved away, she was drowzy, eyes barely open but still awake. She watched him, cautiously, as he held up his hands like he was being arrested. Her gaze softened and he lowered his hands, suddenly, an engineer accompanied by two security guards rushed into the room. X stood still and looked the engineer over, he was fiercely covered with technological weaponry, "I'll test this out on our little hidden camera" said the engineer nastily. He lifted a rifle-shaped gun with wads of wires interlaced and leading to different places on the suit. X quickly looked to the girl, who was confused as he was and said, "Come with me..." just as he said that, a bolt of electricity struck him in the chest and pushed him out the window. He plummeted down the side of the building, and said to himself, "How will I ever fix this....". He knew he would survive the fall and just let it happen.

The next morning, the girl woke up and realized that she would wake up every day from now on. Surgeons and lab techs were always around her, monitoring things and studying medical equipment , she watched as men in lab uniforms recorded every thing she did for hours on end. Eventually after days of therapy she could run and move like everyone else, but she never spoke. Doctors tried to talk with her or ask her questions but she gave no response. After a month, Cornelius met with engineers and decided to meet subject 01 for himself. He walked twoards her and stood infront of her, "Hello, I am Cornelius, what is your name?" he spoke slowly and clearly. The lab techs were scrambling with her medical monitoring equipment, "Tell me your name," Cornelius demanded. After a little while another engineer met with him and gave him a small device designed to fit around her wrist. "I need you to put this on for me" Cornelius asked politely. The small evice was made to control test subjects and keep them "sedated" while they would follow simple orders. She took it from him and wrapped her fingers on the outside of the cuff, and with a small strain, crushed the metal control device and tossed it to the side. The medical equipment was buzzing with action and was soon disconnected as she ripped the wires off herself. "Someone stop her!" shouted Cornelius in anger as security rushed twoards her, she moved faster than they had seen before, ducking and weaving while throwing the guards to the side. Cornelius got infront of her, only to be kicked back three feet with a broken rib. She saw the window that had been repaired just recently and down a few floors at an angle, a shipping pipe elevated over the intersection twenty floors down stretching across to other pipes that spread across the city. She thought and remembered the guy that woke her up and how he fell. She turned, bolted for the window and dove through it.

She hit the wide pipe, tucked and rolled, and managed not to fall off. Almost as soon as she stood up a police drone flew up to her and began to question what happened. The drone scanned her and had no data on file for her face. When it tried to apprehend her, she kicked it in the head, it staggered back, and called for help on its communicator. As soon as it did she sprinted past it and began to run down through the network of pipes, running across the industrial district of the city.

Meanwhile, X, flying in the suit, was cruising through the city and avoiding the police. The police can't keep up with the suit's speed and weaved off left and right to circle around the city. X just turned around and went another way. He flew up near the top of the city, and saw something nearby, someone running across the shipping pipes being chased by police drones. He flew down twoards them and before he was seen he realized who it was, "her?" he said to himself. He flew too close. He reached her and by the time she saw him, she was already swinging. Her fist caught the side of his helmet and sent him spyraling off into the side of a building. She kept running, "she thinks I'm with the police......not good," he said while pulling himself out of the building's wall.

She reached a long stretch of pipe that ran through a building, nowhere else to go. She started running back the way she came, but X landed on the pipe right in front of her. "If you were a real man you wouldn't fight me with that suit!" she shouted as she lunged for him. In a split second, the suit materialized of of his body as he caught her fist. "Stop" he said as he pushed her back. She looked at him and realized who he was, "y-you're...." she said wondering how he survived. Suddenly, a large machine flew into position across from them. "The military?" X said. "They want you, badly." "Why?" said the girl. "That's what I want to know," X said. The Large machine looked like a gigantic person covered in massive armor and thrusters. It held a long lance shaped weapon in its massive grip. As soon as it spotted them and scanned them both it said one word in a deep computerized voice. "TERMINATE" it roared as it charged for them and raised the lance to crush them both with it's size. The girl flinched and looked away before hearing a large crunch. She turned slowly to look and was amazed at what she saw. The markings on X's Body were glowing white hot, his stance was ridgid like stone, and his arm was outstretched above him. His hand held the massive lance, bent and warped while wrapped around his grip. "It's not the suit that's strong, it's me....." and with that, X spun and lifted the weapon and flung it over the side of the pipe, with the machine still hanging on as it crashed through buildings. She looked at him and his body was back to normal and as he looked back at her, she passed out. He picked her up and flew off before the rest of the police could arrive.
If you read the prolouge then this should make at least SOME sense.

Ahhh, okay, yes this makes sense much better with the prologues. Had to refresh myself. :3
